Sierra Electic experienced a power outage today, June 8, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. The cause was determined to be animal contact at the Cuchillo Substation, affecting customers in Elephant Butte, Engle, Mims, Cuchillo, Monticello, Winston and Poverty Creek. The substation equipment belongs to Tri-State G & T; Sierra Electric worked in conjunction with Tri-State to restore power at 10:52 a.m. We appreciate the support of our members during the outage and the help from Elephant Butte Volunteer Fire Department, Sierra County Sentinel and The Herald. If your power was not restored, please contact our office immediately.
