June 8, 2018 Power Outage

Sierra Electic experienced a power outage today, June 8, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.  The cause was determined to be animal contact at the Cuchillo Substation, affecting customers in Elephant Butte, Engle, Mims, Cuchillo, Monticello, Winston and Poverty Creek.  The substation equipment belongs to Tri-State G & T; Sierra Electric worked in conjunction with Tri-State to restore power at 10:52 a.m.  We appreciate the support of our members during the outage and the help from Elephant Butte Volunteer Fire Department, Sierra County Sentinel and The Herald.  If your power was not re

2018 Annual Meeting Date and Time Announcement

The Board of Trustees has announced the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Members will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Hot Springs High School Gymnasium on New School Rd off Date Street.  Additional details will be announced in our Newsletter, enchantment, local media outlets, and a mailing of the official notice to our members as the date of the meeting approaches.  We look forward to seeing our members there!

October 12, 2017 Power Outage

At about 2:40 p.m. today, parts of Elephant Butte, Mims, Engle and Cutter lost power.  Sierra Electric's line crew responded and determined the cause related to a failed arrestor at  around 5:00 p.m. and worked as quickly and safely to make the necessary repairs.  At about 6:15 p.m., power was restored.  If you are a customer of Sierra Electric and you continue to NOT have power, please call our outage center immediately at 1-888-336-3380.  We appreciate the patience and understanding of our members.

2017 Elephant Butte Days Was Out of This World

On Saturday, September 9, 2017, employees and staff of Sierra Electric Cooperative, joined by Power and friends from Tri-State G & T, participated in the Elephant Days Parade in Elephant Butte, NM.  The mile-long parade gave us plenty of opportunities to share goodies with both the kids and adults of the community.  Sierra Electric is proud of our relationship with our members from all parts of Sierra County and hopes everyone had a safe and fun Elephant Days!
